EYFS Curriculum

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) of Education offers a broad and balanced curriculum from birth to 5. It is divided into seven areas of learning, each area having a set of ‘Early Learning Goals’ which determine what most children are expected to achieve by the end of the Foundation Stage i.e. the end of Reception Class.

All the areas of learning are important and inter-connected but Communication & Language, Personal, Social & Emotional Development and Physical Development are priority areas (Prime).

Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts & Design (Specific).

At Cranham we use a combination of teacher assessment & the statutory Foundation Stage Profile to plan & monitor appropriate learning experiences for each individual child.

Before your child starts Nursery, you will be invited to an induction meeting. This is an opportunity for you to tell us about your child and discuss any concerns you may have. We appreciate that you know your child best and we value what you have to say.
