Catkins - Bikeability
Even the rain didn't stop bikeability this week! Instead the children had their session in the hall. Being able to ride a bike is one of the skills we would like all of our children to have the opportunity to do.
Year 2, Year 5 and Year 6 Reading Cafes
Thank you to those that have already attended a Reading Cafe, it is a great way to see how reading is a priority for us as a school and how you can support your child at home. Further cafes are scheduled over the next few weeks.
All children in KS2 are taught French by Mrs Hayward throughout the week. Yesterday was European Languages Day and to celebrate the children have been producing travel guides for a variety of European countries. Mrs Hayward has said that she is looking forward to checking out some of these destinations next year! The children also learnt how to say hello in 10 different European languages! A selection of their impressive work can be seen below, thanks to Harry in Year 6 and Nicola and in Year 5
The Macmillan Coffee Morning was a great success today, thank you to the children and staff for organising and for the wonderful donations of cakes. We have raised £156.65 so far. Mrs Kelly and Mrs Turner will be selling the remaining cakes at breaktime next week if your child wishes to bring any money in to purchase them.
Thank you to everyone that attended the Reading Cafe. We hope that you found in informative. Please see the photos below of the lovely smiley faces of the children, they clearly enjoyed being able to share books in their classrooms with their grown ups.
Thank you to everyone that attended Catkin's first parent event in school. It was great to see everyone reading together. This was an opportunity for parents to see how we teach phonics and reading at Cranham and how they can support their child at home. We hope that you found it useful.
Sycamore club in Year 3 started their swimming lessons this week. They made a great start to this term's swimming and we were very proud of how brave thy were today.
Thank you for signing up for this term's clubs. The children are very excited to start these next week. Please refer to our Enrichment page to find out what is available this term.
