Teaching Assistant Key Stage 2

Permanent Position

 Grade 2

Hours: 27.5 per week (8:45am-3:00pm)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant at Cranham Primary School to work within Key Stage 2. Our very successful,happy primary school is part of The Rivers C of E Academy family of schools and benefits from extensive CPD opportunities and career progression.

 

Cranham Primary is a large two-form entry school where children behave incredibly well, work hard, and make excellent progress. Our staff deliver an exciting and innovative curriculum which allows pupils to explore challenges, solve problems and develop resilience It is vitally important that the successful applicant fully supports our nurturing ethos and the children would like their new teaching assistant to be warm, kind and make each day special.

 

You will have:

  • Previous experience of working in a primary school
  • A good understanding of how to motivate and encourage every child
  • The ability to work 1:1, in small groups and supervise a whole class for short periods of time
  • A proven track record of working in a team and also be able to use your own initiative
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, colleagues and parents.
  • To be flexible and creative
  • To come to school each day with patience, integrity and a big smile

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers and pupils as directed
  • Working with individual or groups of children confidently
  • Working with pupils who need additional support whist ensuring that more able pupils are challenged
  • Preparing resources and planning for sessions as directed
  • You may be asked to support during lunchtimes and work in other year groups when the need arises.
