My name is Helen Rose and I and the subject leader for Design and Technology at Cranham Primary School. My favourite areas of DT are cooking and textiles. I like cooking new recipes and enjoying the fruits of my labours. Preparing food, knowing different cooking methods and understanding what a healthy and balanced diet is are all key life skills. I also very much enjoy sewing and knitting; it’s very satisfying making something that can be used or worn.

DT has many different areas and provides key learning opportunities and plays an important part in our curriculum at Cranham. It enables the children to be problem solvers, to be innovative and above all, creative.
