What can children learn and experience outdoors?

Children are naturally inquisitive and learn best when engaged in their environment. Outdoor learning is therefore an important part of the reception year at Cranham because it stimulates children’s curiosity, creativity and imagination. In Catkins, children are given regular learning opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self esteem through hands-on experiences in our wooded area. Children have opportunities to takes risks, problem solve and work in collaboration. It also helps children to establish a healthy and active lifestyle and offers them the opportunities to use their bodies physically by engaging in various activities.
