Welcome to our Spring term page!
What have we been up to recently?
On the last day of term we went on a school trip to RAF, Cosford. We took part in a workshop called 'The Spirit of the Blitz'. We got to handle artefacts from WW2, try on WW2 clothing (which included a coat made out of REAL rabbit fur!), hide out in an Anderson and Morrison shelter and try on gas masks!
On Thursday we made Easter cards to give to our families. They were quite fiddly but we got there in the end and they look FANTASTIC!
On Tuesday 4th April, we worked in groups to research 'the Blitz' ahead of our school trip on Friday. We used the iPads to find out important facts. When we had finished finding out lots of information we had to put it into a presentation with our groups so that we could present it to the class.
On Tuesday this week we had a go at making words using the Semaphore flag signals. We worked on our hand signals in the classroom before heading out onto the field to do them to another group from a far distance. Although it looks very simple, we struggled to make sure we were doing the signals with the correct arms!
As you all know it is 'Red Nose Day' on Friday 24th March 2017 in aid of Sports Relief. Here at Cranham we are wearing red to school and each class is baking their own cakes to sell during break time!
'The Great Cranham Bake Off'
On Wednesday, Poplar class made army style cup-cakes (to go with our topic!). We used four different coloured cake mixtures and spooned a bit of each colour into the cupcake cases. They turned out FANTASTIC! (Thanks to Mrs Morgan!)
We iced our cakes today! The children were much better at icing than Miss Parle!
